The JRC has developed a tool assessing the maximum approach speed of vehicles along approach roads leading towards public spaces, in particular squares and streets.
This follows the logic of a Vehicle Dynamics Assessment (VDA) as a first step in the mitigation against potential vehicle as a weapon attacks.
The tool is based on data from OpenStreetMap.
Access to this tool is offered to interested stakeholders on a need-to-know basis.
